Song Lyrics

Here are a few of the songs and finger plays that we've been learning each day. This list will grow throughout the year as there are lots of wonderful songs out there!

(Sit with knees up to represent a hill)

Rags

I know a dog and his name is Rags (hands up on top of head like dog ears)

He ate so much that his tummy sags (make a round belly with your hands)

His ears flip flop (flip flop hands like ears) 

And his tail wig wags (make a floppy tail with your hands)

And when he walks he walks zig-zag! (criss-cross your arms) 

He goes flip-flop, wiggle-waggle, zig-zag x 3

I love rags and he loves me!

Human Bean

I'm a human bean I grow when you care, (crouch down)

when you show me love and teach me to share.

Then my love will sprout without a doubt (pop fingers out like they're sprouting)

5 Little Pumpkins
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate (hold up 5 fingers)
The first one said "It's getting late" (hold up one finger)
The second one said "There's a chill in the air!"(hold up two fingers)

40 Years on an Iceberg

Forty years on an iceberg, (flash ten fingers four times)

Over the ocean wide. (do the wave with right arm)

Nothing to wear but pajamas, (pretend to put on P.J. pants)

Nothing to do but slide! (make a downward sliding motion with hands)

The wind was cold and icy, (hug yourself)

The frost began to bite, bite, bite! (snap fingers like crab claws)

I had to hug my polar bear, 

To keep me warm at night, night night. (find the nearest person and give them a big hug!)

"I'm hungry" he said with a wiggle and a squeal,
Stuck in his paw and pulled out a seal! (Pretend to reach into the water and pull out a seal)
